workspaces of the future

Rip Off the Rearview Mirror and Design for the Future.

As Principal of Flynn Architecture, Teri Flynn has designed a series of award-winning architectural projects over the past two decades including live-work lofts, retail mixed-use projects, and historic building reuse Now Teri’s eye for what is coming next has led her to focus on the workplace. Teri believes our typical workplaces are holding organizations back from their potential. The many lessons Teri has learned from researching workplace design throughout the world as well as architect for two of the most innovative workplace concepts in the United States, the San Francisco and Berkeley, have made Teri a thought leader regarding the future workplace. Teri understands how workspaces can be purposefully designed to choreograph increased opportunities for innovation and collaboration; workplaces designed to give an organization a productivity edge. The Berkeley and San Francisco HUB environments together house more than 900 social entrepreneurs in approximately 22,000 s.f. of unique workspace purposefully designed to function as a platform for innovation and collaboration. These two Hubs were the first US locations in a worldwide network of 30 HUB offices with locations in Europe, Africa, South America and Asia. The San Francisco HUB is the largest HUB in the worldwide network.

Teri has a keen eye for creating designs that are green and inherently sustainable—as those are key features for the future of life and work. All of her architectural design work incorporates green strategies from materials to systems.

Teri graduated from the University of California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture. She is a frequent speaker on the topics of Workspaces of the future, Green and sustainable spaces, and mixed-use projects.
