workspaces of the future

The workplace of the future must provide far more than just a place to work; after all, most information workers can (and do) work from almost anywhere. The future workplace has different emphasis; to become a tool enabling the kind of business communication and relationship building that can only happen from face-to-face interaction.
1) a workplace designed for the future should enable knowledge workers to collaborate in workspaces uniquely suited for communication and sharing work product. We call this “design for collaboration”.
2) it should allowcoworkers to easily watch and learn from one another. We call this “design for passive mentoring”.
3) The workplace of the future is not a place that people stay stationary; instead they are encouraged to move around with their workflow and work requirements. This movement creates increased opportunity for cross-pollination of ideas and connections between coworkers not ordinarily working together. We call this “choreographing serendipity”.
4) The workplace of the future should provide an inspiring environment where workers experience energy and buzz and positive messages. We call it “design beyond branding”.

Can the right workplace design really do all this? It can.
